Who are the Tswana People and Where They Come From?

Tswana people emerge from Botswana, most of Tswana speakers reside in South Africa today, hence we used to have a place that was dominated by them known as Bophuthatswana (Mabopane).

The word Tswana is not well known where is started from, but the Tshwana people came to South Africa in the 14 century.

But now under the new government all that have changed the section falls under the Gauteng department.

Batswana are part of a clan, from these ones;

Barôlông

Bakwêna

Bangwaketse

Bamangwato

Batawana

Batlôkwa

Bakgatla

Tswana's also form a large part of the country. Amazingly there are quite a few number of white people speak Tswana.
